Pott Wine
From a tender age, when a Parisian waiter teased him that milk is for babies, Aaron Pott has spent his life making wine. Firstly in Napa, then a 6-year sojourn in Bordeaux as winemaker for Châteaux Troplong Mondot and La Tour Figeac and since 2001 in Napa again, where he and his wife Claire established their own vineyards and winery - Pott Wine - in 2007. Aaron is well known through the Valley as the consultant winemaker behind many of Napa's niche and highly collectible wines. Aaron's own passion project Pott Wine focuses on highly selected single vineyard wines from sites that Aaron has fallen in love with during his decades in Napa. Most importantly from our own estate vineyard Pott Art, and the adjoining vineyards of Lagier-Meredith on the ancient sea-floor slopes of Mt. Veeder. Respecting and nurturing nature; keeping it weird....
Wines
We are 100% organically farmed. We maintain permanent cover crops between the vine rows to control erosion, bring beneficial insects and boost biodiversity. We have nesting boxes for owls, bluebirds and bats, who in turn control insects and other predators. We even brew our own "compost teas" for when the vines need a refreshing boost of nutrients.
Once the grapes arrive at the winery modern optical sorting meets age-old artisanal techniques and nothing but indigenous yeasts in order to create wines that are pure, living, unadulterated expressions of our site and its beauty.
